Looking to replace a motor on an older boat. Came across a1985 30hp. Suzuki was wondering if the older ones had a reputation, good, bad, or otherwise. And if there is weak link to look for in one any help would be appreciated Thanks Steve

The 87 DT150SS I have has been super strong , but I did have to have carbs rebuilt and replace a coil. Just normal things to have to do for a older motor.

Other than having parts on hand, they are good solid motors, if you service it regularly. Brownspoint carries all parts, but you have to wait to have them shipped.
