Furthermore, it directly contradicts the official position of the U.S. Government and in particular President George W. Bush.
If that is not the majority accepted interpretation then why are the rest of the moslems not disowning the ones who follow this? Because there are very few moslems who do mot subscribe to that belief. Even the moderates (hypothetically assuming that there are moderates) will admit that islam must conquer all. Islam recognizes only two groups of people. The house of islam (submission) and the house of war. (I just went blank as to the arabic terms for these two. Sorry)
Reading the koran and the hadith leaves no other interpretation possible. Islam must conquer all as islam is allah's command.
Just because something is the official policy of the US government doesn't mean it's correct. President Bush is restrained by public opinion and the realities of the situation from stating the truthon some issues. (As an example, he can't come ruight out and say that homosexuals are whacked in the head even if he may believe that and it is true).
Right now we cannot fight the enitre moslem world at the same time. We must pick them off one country at a time and try to reform them. When it comes down to having to fight them all at once (and it will) then we'll have to nuke a bunch of countries and millions of moslems will die. We'd rather not do that, but we will if forced to it.
We are at war for our survival. The sooner we realize that, the sooner the war ends. Wake up and smell the coffee.
