The heck with lock bumping..... if someone want's in they will get in. Gun's equal nothing when no one is home and my overly affectionate dog does not have an opposing thumb to help shooting the gun. Probably the best protection I have is insurance.

We leave the key in the door and a sign that says "If you're here to rob us, enter at your own risk." "Sam" goes all Cujo on the french doors when a stranger comes anywhere near them, he loves UPS and DHL delivery workers. LOL

Normally, he's a 105 pounds of fun, but he dosen't like strangers at the door.

Re: Are you sure your house is safe?

Now I have a key for YOUR house too.

only if the key goes into the cyl. if it don't go into the keyhole your bump key won't work. in other words, your schlage key wont enter my kwikset lock. so ya can't bump it untill ya make a kwikset bump key.

Glad I have Schlage locks...that technique doesn't work on them
only if the schlage lock is a schlage primus lock. the primus lock has a sidebar locking mechinism in it that would defeat the bump key.

point is. if you want a bump proof lock. you need to have a sidebar locking mechinism in it. medeco locks have used sidebars for years. many other high security locks use sidebars also. for cars. gm has used sidebar locking for many years before that. like back into the 30's i think. i just saw an ad for kwikset locks the other day. the newest one has wafer tumblers and a sidebar in it. most likely not going to bump or pick this lock. short of luck....since the news came out about bumping. it appears that the mfgs will start to address this issue......

Never lock the place up here. I have 100% confidence in my security system.
