I have a 50hp evinrude lark, Ser#e004565 mod#50473m. i was told that this is a 1974 model but i thought that the model# told the date. 50 is horse power and 73 is the year. what is the correct year. <br /><br />Also i have an older evirude 40hp??(was told by seller). ser#02220 mod#35531m what is the correct hp and year?<br /><br />On the older motor i do not have the wiring harness so i can not hook a key up to it to start it. i know it needs a solenoid but do not know which wires will go to the solenoid and which ones go to the key switch. i have a wiring diagram for a motor close to it but would like to know for sure!! the harness that is on the engine has the following---><br /><br />. -----------<br /> |--- Y T Bl ---|<br /> | Bk R W N Bk |<br /> |-------------|<br /><br />Y-yellow<br />T-Tan<br />Bl-blue<br />Bk-black<br />R-red<br />W-white<br />N-No wire connected<br /><br />these are the wires in the plug from an end view, colors are faded so not sure on white an tan.
