hey ! i have in my new boat an automatic bilge pump and a steering panel with the switches on , auto and manual on.

it works fine with battery master on. but with battery master off the pump is just off and not armed ( in auto) so i want to switch it directly to the battery. but somehow i cannot imagine how it has to be done witch this switch panel . i installed in my last boat a johnson auto pump without a switch and had installed an on and armed switch. the pump was always armed , even with battery master off. the on position worked with battery master on- but here it seems to work different.

any hints how to solve the secret ? the pump has 4 wires- two directly to the pump and two to the float switch .

thanks much !

Re: automatic bilge pump

The solid brown wire is the 12v+ lead---from the battery terminal to the float switch (unless the float is incorporated into the pump itself). The black is the 12v-. The brown/white wire is the 12v+ from the helm switch (ON) to the pump.
