Hi guys, I have a Avon 3.41 Rib... I havent had any problems but i think i should be caring a patch kit... What kind of glue do i need... any idea where i can buy it... Thanks
The glue that should be used is a 2 part glue(zodiac brand is good)... but i reccomend you actually wait until you need it before you buy it because this kind of glue has a limited shelf life. It can be bought on almost any online rib proshop but the shipping cost can be pricy(because it is considered a haradous substance).
sorry to jump in on an older thread, just wanted to thank you for this reccommendation. I recently put CF numbers and state registration on a PVC Inflatable and noticed loss of air from floor. I inflated it fully and flipped it over and watered down and discovered a very small tear on the bottom, about 3/4 inch long and barely noticeable. I used the patch kit that came with the boat but they do not give much material. The tear-aid B seems just the ticket for any emergency repairs in the future. (it's my own fault by the way,) I had the inflated boat resting on a hot patio and did a lot of walking around while fitting with experimental semi-rigid floor from ploystyrene. That is more than likely when the tear occured as it has not been in the water yet. There is a lot to learn for a "noob" like me. THANK YOU.
You're welcome James. There are many stories of inflatable boaters who have applied Tear-Aid as an emergency temporary repair..................................that remained temporary for three years!
Thank you for all of the valuble input everyone has... I tracked down the cement... I am back from my trip and had a great time... The only leak we had was on my boat and it is on the seam on the inflatable keel... I will have to see if i can repair it now that i am back... Cheers
