I got my boat going fast for the first time yesturday, but every time it would hit a bigger wave and come down, the engine would die. Then it would take about 2-5 minutes to get it started again. I could crank it, but it would not fire. When I bought it, the coil was just sitting behind the distributor. I bolted it up, but I dont know if its damaged. I know a lot more about off-roading and have an MSD ignition system on my truck with one of their high vibration coils on it. Would that be a good idea to run it on my boat? They are sealed well, put out 40,000 volts and obviously are made to handle the vibrations and bouncing of off roading. Would they be good in my boat? Its the on in the avatar pic and sig.
