Went fishing this morning and had the best day I had all year I felt great,, but it didn't last long. Got home and my wife was waiting for me at the door. First thing she asked was "did you stop at Bills" I said no why. One of our closest friends Chuck (Bills brother) was in a bad motorcycle accident last night. Wife was with him. Doctors say she does not have much of a chance to make it. :( He has broken back and broken ribs and legs. She has massive head trauma. I feel awful about it because we all saw it coming with him. At 50 years of age he decided to start using drugs. For the last 6 months or so he had all but shut all his real friends out. Every time I did run into him he was a mess. Wishing now I would have kicked his *** on one of the occasion I saw him like that. I did try to talk to him but he didn't want to hear it. Prayers would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear the bad news.

I've come to believe that you can't help someone that doesn't want to be be helped.
Try as you may, but some people just can't be reached, so you have to (unfortunately) watch them go down that wrong path.

I'm still a 'young buck' as my elders put it, but I've already seen my share of good apples go bad.

Take care, and I hope the almighty will spare his life and make him realize his wrong path.

H.

Re: Bad day for flathead

I just returned late last night from Reno's "Steets of Thunder" motorcycle event.
It was the first major trip and event since my purchase of my Sporty.
It was a 400 mile round trip through the Feather River canyon and high desert. There were 8 bikes in our group.
The event was the largest event I've ever witnessed. Hundreds of thousands (probably a million)of bikes lining the streets.
The impact of this event and the ride transformed me from a poser to biker.

With that said, my prayers to our brother.

Ride safe and drug free.

I'm sorry to hear that flathead :(

Thats really strange that he would start usein drugs on 50years old. Most guys are getting away from that when they are as old as 50.

Something big must have happended in his life for him to start.

His poor wife :(

I know how you feel. My sister is an alcoholic and won't help herself. A dark cloud follows her where ever she goes and she wants to blame everything else, when its the alcohol. My prayers are with your friend and his wife. Maybe this is God's way of waking him up.

Consider it done Flahthead.

I do have one question though was the head injury due to not wearing a helmut? I'm sure the State is keeping track of these things.

It's funny the Commodore when she is riding in the back seat calls the motorcyclist bad because they are not wearing their helmut. We have to go into a speach that they do not have to wear them in PA.

Flahthead, so sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with them both.

This past weekend, we had 75,000 bikers on the island for a rally, the first of its kind here. There were several really bad accidents including a fatality. Drugs, alcohol and biking are a dangerous mix.
