Here is a link to a story I have been following for the last week. I fish this lake one to three times a week when the weather allows it. Jgregory also hunts in this area. Darn shame, these were two young guys. I do think it could be chalked up to inexperiance on the water, according to reports this was the first time these two used a canoe to hunt out of.
:(
http://www.nbc10.com/news/2745522/detail.html

I dont want to start a riot, but you couldn't
force me into a canoe with a gun.

Ice water is good in the glass when its hot, but I won't boat in the stuff. Hypothermia is just as bad as buring to death. What ashame, I feel for the parents, wife and kids.. :(

Re: Bad times at the lake.

I think these guys were actually hunting from a blind on the lake edge. They were using the canoe to retrive the downed ducks. They think that one went out in the canoe to retrive a duck and fell in. Then the other tried to save him and drowned too. The fact that one of their guns was found on shore is why they think this.

Always sad to hear about these things. Most of them could be avoided.

Thanks, flahthead, I did not see this, with the dish I only get NY stations. And you know I might have met these guys. I was talking to 2 guys from philly the last time I was small game hunting there. They where wondering about duck hunting on the lake. Freaky.

As for canoeing with a gun Pop and I used to do that all the time either at Nockamixon or on the Delaware. But it was always October and always had a pfd on or with us. Chances are these guys were blind hunting shot the bird hopped into the canoe w/o the pfds and flipped. Morons.
