I went out to go work on the boat and about the time I drained the carbs and such getting gas on my hands and all. My oldest daughter came to me saying mommy needs me her sister was hurt. So I stop and go inside and wash up only to find that she had fallen and cut her chin pretty deep and I determined we needed to head to the emergency room. We got that taken care of (3 stitches later) and I went back to what I was doing only to have one of the bolts that hold the carburetor to the engine break  and I don't own a set of screw outs. I go ahead and take the other 2 carbs off and start cleaning one upon which I realize I need a new gasket and o-rings. Of course this is a part I have to go to the dealer for so now I have to wait till they re-open on Tuesday  (close early Sat and closed Sun and Mon). By now I assume my luck will require me to order the parts which takes even more time so I move on to project 2. Project #2 is working on my mom's van which goes well  once I figure out that the backyard mechanic my cousin paid to install a used engine forgot to connect a couple sensors  . Today I decide to take the family fishing (from the bank dang boat) and the wife told me to go on ahead and she and the girls would meet me later. Things go good but no fish so since I am trying to get used to my new 9wt flyrod I give it some work. Of course I have some problems with timing but I get everything working smooth then get hung up  . The leader breaks but not before the brand new flyline gets cut on something underwater  . Then the wife kids and dogs show up of course they forgot to stop and get bait so now it's daddy's fault for forgetting bait when he told mommy to get some on her way. I am home now but I am going to have to get up and go in an hour earlier  tomorrow because of a problem with a student. So in all my weekend sucked. Thanks for letting me vent and listening and if anyone knows exactly which of the fishing, boating or life in general spirits I ticked off let me know so I can make amends before next weekend as I am taking a 3-day and going fishing for my birthday.

Re: Bad weekend

had you posted earlier I would have suggested stopping it all and becoming an armchair QB with the exercise being a cold one to the mouth

Re: Bad weekend

i bet if you can't round up an ez-out, i might have one i can lend you via snailmail, if you tell me the bolt size. 1/4 i guess.

how old was the daughter with stitches? so many kids seem to get that very same cut. so if you tell her the stitches make it look like a blue goatee, you'll get some humor at the expense of a death threat ;)

with a weekend like that, next weekend has got to improve, right? :D happy b'day in adv

Re: Bad weekend

The daughter is almost 7 and I think it was harder on her momma than her. Thanks for the offer for use of the tool but I think a friend has a set he has about everything else. He was out of town this weekend but I should be able to get up with him this evening. If not it is time for me to get one as I am doing a lot more of my own auto repairs and other things than I ever have so sooner or later I will most likely need it again. Thanks for the pick me up guys but with a day like today following the weekend things are already better. I only had 3 students today it looks like I may go all week with at least half the group gone due to sickness or incarceration.

Did ya' ever notice, really notice, what the site of blood does to women? Espesially when it's from an off-spring? Did ya' ever notice what the site of blood from an off spring does to you? Four kids and six grandchildren later, I still get butterflies. Just an obsrvation.

Re: Bad weekend

Nope just one step above (sort of) OB. I teach special education. I only had 13 students at the beginning of the year but am down to 12 on my roll with only 8 that show up on a regular basis. Of the 4 that do not show up one is recently on homebound because of medical reasons (he almost died of kidney failure), two come when they feel like it after being up all night selling for their uncle or brother and one that is MIA sort of he runs away when it is time to come to school and returns home after school gets out (bad parenting from his guardian as his parents are dead). All of them have problems learning and are on different levels. My lowest 3 have a problem saying or writing their ABC's. However they do function well socially. As far as grades/ages run they come to us from middle school at age 15 and can stay till they are 21. If they turn 21 during the school year they finish out that year otherwise you graduate after at least 4 years in High school when your parents say it is time or before the summer you turn 21 whichever comes first. (I hope this is not confusing) High school here runs 9th through 12th but that does not matter with my students as much as age. Out of the three seniors I have only one has been able to keep a job one of the others is proceeding to Voc Rehab due to his physical disability and the third who is a disappointment in that he has lost 2 jobs the second one by doing some really outrageous things and has been acting up so badly he was arrested for threatening a school official and disturbing school. What is sad is I think he still has no clue how much trouble he is in even though the law will look at him like any other 19yo. He does know right from wrong and although he has a low IQ it is not low enough to keep him out of jail. Anyway I talked enough about my "kids" and their problems but keep in mind you asked LOL :D

Re: Bad weekend

That sounds like a very challenging job.
working with disabled kids must mean you have
a lot of patience. I would expect it also brings
its own rewards.
