ok the picture on the left shows the floor being rotten and not sure what to call the boxes the floor is on(i guess it would be the sub-floor) but the stringers run under them, are the stringers connected to the sub-floor

Man, I am so glad you are taking this on. I have an 86 Bass Hawk 186XL with a similar problem. I am contemplating taking the cap off and see what is going on under there. How did you get the cap off? I took off the bumper around the boat and I see all the rivets. Did you just drill them out and that freed it up?

I don't know what the boxes or sub-floor are. I will let you know if I get my cap off and figure it out. I am definitely going to have to replace the deck in places if not the whole thing between the seats and the front live well. The transom worries me and I have leaking going on that requires the bilge to cut on if we use it for a while. What made you think the transom is shot? I won't hijack your thread, but I will follow intently.

Thanks,

JimboP

well jimbop you have to drill the rivets out on the side then pull your carpet up and drill the rivets holding the cap to the floor(that will be the main floor area).....the space between the seats should be part of the top cap........the transom on mine was showing signs of weakness.....it cracked the fiberglass on the inside of the boat and thats when i said it was time to do something.
