Re: Bass tracker trailers

So I picked up the trailer on Thursday. 1150 out the door, but I still have to pay ohio registration fees. I would say the trailer needs 150, maybe 200 dollars worth of work. The tires were great. Paint is 99% there, minus a few welds that are rusty. LEd lights worked perfect.Brakes worked great, towed her 350 miles home without a problem. The only thing it needs is a new nylon strap for the winch, a 1" piee of metal welded to the ladder, and new carpet on the bunks. I priced the metal work today at 80 bucks. I can get a strap for 30 bucks, and 2X4s and carpet is cheap. Overall I think I got a steal. I see trailers in way worse shape than this one selling for 1500 bucks in my area. I am a happy camper. Also, my 2013 Ecoboost still got 18.5 mpg pulling her home.

Incoop- I'm looking at the trailer today. I may take you up on the brake help. Newcomer, that price looks good, but there isn't brakes. I can't find one with brakes for under 2500. The big question is do you really need them?

The answer actually is - it depends. If you are towing something that weighs 3K behind a small suv then yes, if behind a 6000lb pickup then probably not. Whether or not you are legally required to have them is the bigger question.

Agreed. I gave the short answer based on the assumption that anything needing a 25 foot barge trailer would put him in the legally required zone.
