I have a nice, cozy space in my basement all ready for my 3 boat batteries to be stored for the winter. It's about 10 feet away from the furnace (boiler) and I wondered about hydrogen offgassing and the proximity to the furnace. This furnace has (inside) a pilot light and it since my house is crap the boiler usualy runs almost constantly.
Anybody have an opinion on this? I have a couple of trickle chargers I was going to use to keep these batteries happy, but after reading about the mishaps with charging batteries and explosions I am a little concerned.
Will these off-gas even if I don't put the chargers on them?
