Beach Launching

Seen these on u tube. Just looking for opinions. Don't know about launching a boat with them. But I seen a lot of people here that could have used them to get traction in all the snow we have had here.

Backed in way deeper than necessary to prove a point -- and nearly went off the end anyway. I've beached launch (very shallow at that) with an AWD Astro where I had to get all four wheels wet. If you have a beach with at least a little gravel these things aren't necessary.

I've used something similar, basically 6 ft long metal ramps. (may or may not be 50 year old SeaBee interlocking planks used to make a runway) Some beaches are almost quicksand, without them your trailer will be down to the axle in seconds.

Good idea, especially for the tow vehicle. After having a 4x4 pickup stuck in the sand on a beach in Oregon (with the tide coming in ), I can appreciate that one might need something like that.

I've used something similar, basically 6 ft long metal ramps. (may or may not be 50 year old SeaBee interlocking planks used to make a runway) Some beaches are almost quicksand, without them your trailer will be down to the axle in seconds.

I also have a set of these metal ramps. They're only good for small craft in my experience. Anything heavy and the tires spit them out.

wish i had a picture of them, but they are fairly heavy duty. heaviest boat loaded that I can think of offhand is either the 19 foot bowrider on a single axle or a 26 ft pontoon on duals. (wouldn't really ever want to beach load anything bigger anyway!)

probably depends ALOT on the terrain. This is on fairly soft sand, no chance of tires spitting them out, the ramps themselves will sink down a little bit, enough that they are barely visible even.

we use 2 50' rolls of 4' wide chain link fencing when launching on a very soft sandy beach in the san juans. we do have to deadman the uphill ends as the tires will pull it under. we launch my 21' trophy and my dads 19' glasply.

it reminded me of the few times I have been stuck and wedged a floor mat under the wheels only to give it too much gas and send the floor mat flying.

Have used similar, piece of expanded steel, and very course exterior door mat pads. Anything to keep the tow vehicle tires from sinking, and provide a little bit of traction.
