Hi Guys,

Bearing Buddies don't seem to be used much on this side of the Pond so i'm gonna pick your brains please, my boat trailer has 2 inch hubs and i've been looking at putting BB's......

The sizes seem to be 1.98 inches and 2.047 inches.....which one would you advise? I'm leaning towards the 2047 and using a large hammer!!

Appreciate your help chaps, and if it makes you feel better the cost of them here is about $70!!

cheers,

Lewis

$70? You talking US dollars?

1.98" is the most common. Ebay UK have them for under 7 pounds (pair).

Re: Bearing Buddies Size question

Thanks for the reply mate,

Yep there is one pair for about 8 quid but they are 2047 and the seller says they are for 2 inch hub. Thats what is confusing me. New they are about 35 pounds - thats what i've seen anyway.

They are cheap from the US but will have to add another 17 pounds for the shipping unfortunately.

Re: Bearing Buddies Size question

Bearing Buddies are an interference fit in the hubs. A 1.98 Buddy will fall out of a 2.0 hub. You should be able to Google the BB specs. Then using a micrometer, measure the dust cap inner diameter of the hub. You should have an interference fit just like the dust cap.

Pony, thanks very much for the reply, judging by the bearing size, i need a 1.98 but i'll measure the hub with a caliper to confirm.

Cheers,
