The bearing buddies on my trailer are the type that the zerk screws into the end of the axle. Can someone tell me what brand this is. Also should I replace them with the same type. They are slinging a lot of grease. Thanks

I don't have a camera. I am interested in replacing them. If someone could give me a couple of brand names that make this type bearing cover maybe I could find them on the internet. thanks

Before you spend the money to replace them, take them off and take them apart and clean them. If it is the type that I am familiar with there is just a snap ring that holds them together. There is really nothing to them besides that snap ring, the spring and o-ring.

I've seen them at Walmart, not very expensive-

$10 or $15. I also noticed trailer wheel bearing kits for around $15 or so[at Walmart] after I bought bearings and seals at the local bearing store for over $45...
I'm thinking you may need bearings if they slung a lot of grease out. They shouldn't be leaking unless they're cracked,or you have had the bearings get hot. Or,maybe they were simply overfilled.

The bearing system that actually drills a lube hole in the axle...is the E-Z Lube. Here is a diagram for how it works...and a picture of the rubber grommet on the dust cover.

You probably have the Bearing Buddy dust caps...and the local trailer store claims that 99% of these Bearing Buddy owners pump too much grease into them...and you get a slung mess. No real issue...just clean off the slung grease, and only lube them until the spring loaded plate reaches the inner scribed line.

I just bought a set of Red Eye bearings protectors on clearance for $11.00 at Wal-Mart. Originally they were $13.47. They were made for 1.98" hubs.
