I was given a 1991 DT 40 motor and I am having a couple of issues.
1st issue when key switch is on with motor running or not there is a constant beeping sound coming from the control box. What could be causing this? Would it have anything to do with the oil sensor. Where should I start on this one?

2nd issue is that the motor bogs down when I go to get on it. I have replace the fuel pump, rebuilt the carb and put new fuel lines on it. I haven't replaced the fuel filter yet but I did blow air through it and it was fine. What else might be causing this issue?

Re: beeping sound motor bogging down

Generally when you have a constant beeping or warning buzzer it means something is wrong. The motor is bogging down because the computer is putting it in a failsafe mode. This limits the engine rpm which allows you to limp home without doing catastrophic damage. That is my guess. Figure out why the warning buzzer is going off first then see if engine still runs like crap.
