Bellows adhesive or ?

Changing all my cooling hoses and the transom/outdrive to power steering cooler hose has an adapter (smaller piece of hose) that goes on the outdrive nipple. Instructions say to use Bellows adhesive on the adapter but doesn't say on the inside or outside of the adapter. I'm thinking ouside but thought I'd better ask. Also, I don't have any Bellows adhesive, anything else that will work? Heading over to Walmart, thought I saw some there.

3M Weatherstrip adhesive might work

Ayuh,.....

You're wanting Glue the Adapter piece to the Nipple.....
Not the Adapter piece to the Hose.........

Thanks Bondo! Good thing I asked. The old adapter pulled off easily and looked like a trace of contact cement or something on the outside so thats why I thought it would go on the outside, nothing on the inside or on the nipple. Darn directions should be more specific! Most of my new hoses came in Quicksilver bags, but the hoses are stamped Made in China. Isn't anything made here anymore?
