This is my experience---
If it isn't pulling to the right or left, leave it alone. Aluminum, especially the pewter-like aluminum alloy they make those lower units out of, is a brittle metal. You can't make it significantly more flexible by heating it. I would leave it alone. If you try and straighten it, I'd almost bet it will break. You also have to keep in mind that aluminum is one of the best heat conductors there is, so if you heat it up, you'll be heating the whole thing up and possibly warping some important stuff, along with burning all the grease in there. Are you talking about the skeg or cavitation plate? I have had some success slowly tapping out minor bends in a cavitation plate with a hammer an dolly and lots of patience and gently tapping. But not skegs.
