I am in need of a new or excellent condition cowl or hood for my what use to be mint condition 1999 Johnson 30 hp manual start. I have owned this engine since new and unfortunatly the cover was damaged while under cover. The roof fell on it. Does anyone know of a good used parts supplier or a place that would have a new old stock one? Its part number 5000418 and the engine model is J30RLEEN. I would appreciate any leads.

Thanks for your time,

David

Check e-bay or craigs list. Or you could always go to your local Johnson/Evinrude dealer. Another thought is to try Twin Cities Outboard. They are a salvage outfit for outboards although they do deal primarily in older stuff. But you 1999 is getting near 10 years olds so they may just have what you need.

they are available from brp. and dealer. espensive. i could buy a used motor for what they want for a cover. i agree tcoutboard.com is probably your best bet, it will help if you call them, they get overloaded with email.

Ok I called the places you all told me about with no luck. I am still looking, does any else have any leads. It would really mean alot to me if I could find a good clean used one. A new one at the dealer is over $700 and I am afraid more than I want to spend of the engine. Let me know..
