Best way to cut cylinder head and what parts do I need to make my shifter high idle

I broke two cylinder head bolts off below then head and I have not been able to get it off. I have found a replacement for $30 so I'm planning on just cutting the old one off and using the new one. Just wanted to come on here before I did it and see if anyone has done this before and has any knowledge they want to share.

Also, I have looked at the schematic and it looks like my shifter should have a button behind it so I can high idle my engine. It does not and I was wondering if I'm missing something or if I need some parts.

I would try drilling out the broken head bolts by starting with a small drill bit, punching the middle of the broken bolt and increasing size of drill bits to a slightly smaller one than the diameter of the broken bolt, or you could try and easy out. Yes the control should have a button which you pull out to keep in neutral while be able to shift to high neutral idle. Can't really tell from your picture if you have it as it may be upside down, but the inch size round piece of metal showing on the picture is where it normally is, unsure but you may have lost the top button part of it.

I tried drilling out the bolts. So far I've broken two bits. I don't think an EZ out is going to help me. These guys are in there. The replacement head is only $30 and I'll waste more time than that screwing with a drill or a torch.

Okay, I thought it might have been a push button. The round bit is flat so someone may have ground it down. I'll look and see if it can be pulled.

Thanks

Some controls you just pull out the handle and it's in fast idle.More pics.
The heads holding the screws not the block, corrosion in there.
If you can get the head out just a bit you can use a hacksaw to cut the bolts and then they'd come out easy.
Try an acetelene torch,it will get it hot enough to break the corrosion.
Just don't get the block too hot.
I'd use WD and heat and tap with a small hammer on the bolt in the head.

Well I've already tried the torch. That's why it's so black around that area. I have never torched aluminum before so I was nervous about getting it too hot. The problem is, since there are two bolts, the head will have to be free enough to come straight up; I won't be able to work it back and forth. I tried getting a wedge between the block and the head while torching it and I wasn't able to get it to budge. I figured I'd rather bust a $30 head than mess up a who knows how much block.

You have a spare so cut the head through with a grinder at the point of where the bolts are, make sure you dont go hitting the block.
It may be the case that if you can get a cut above the top bolt it may free it up. Just a thought

What I would do is take off the powerhead, not that much more work, and find a way to hang it from the spark plug holes, (an inch over something soft) and then soak all the stuck areas with WD-40, tap with a rubber hammer, wood block, use some heat, repeat the process....just be ready when it finally releases.....then soak the areas around the broken bolts with WD-40, use heat and get them out...retap all the threads....

I'm glad you posted this. I was laying in bed the same night you posted thinking "I wonder if I can use the spark plug holes and rig up some sort of gear puller type setup." You think the spark plug holes can hang on to the weight of the powerhead without stripping?
