Best way to cut through plastic?

I'm having a tough time trying to cut into the plastic material in and around the dash to install speakers and a cd unit. I was able to wire it without trouble, but mounting the various items has become a huge pain. Anyone have any suggestions on technique/tools to use?

rotozip as said, if i have a large trim plate, i might drill several holes, along the line then use a hacksaw blade in a holder, and cut it out.

A RotoZip cutter in a Dremel works fine too.
