Big American Glasser Cruiser! Anyone ever seen one?

I just came across this ad on Fleabay. Shows a 1977 American 25 foot cruiser! I never knew they made such a thing! I always thought the American series stopped at 20-foot as a runabout. Now I have something to look out for! Anyone know if they actually built many of these beasts?

I don't know if they were Americans specifically but I have seen several that looked very close to that ^^^ up in my area. HUGE!

Thanks for posting the link! That is indeed a sharp looking cruiser. Gives me hope that I may find one someday. No time or money for something like that right now, but it's good to know they're out there...

JAs, cool your ardor. we all know that with a FG boat, "bad floor" is ad-speak for "need to replace the stringers" (even if the seller's not yet connected that water flows downward, therefore if the parts higher up are water rotted, those in the bilge ................)

Honestly, I think that boat is totally cool. The lines on er are sweet!

2 things keeping me away...

1. It's not bottom feeder $

2. Yah, bad deck also means bad stringers, means bad transom too. That would be a MONSTER job to get all that out. That huge cabin too, yikes. Gosh that would be such a huge job, wow.

Oh ya, now I remember why I don't do glassers

Tons of pain, but when it's done, it's done for as long as you own her. I dunno, Chinewalker seems to have done two and it didn't kill him. I know his were not as big, but he did live through it. Pretty boat, I'll bet she laughs at a 4-5' chop. Way to much boat for me at this point in my career.

My missus is the one who sold me on glass. She is, er, shall we say, on the "endowed" end of the spectrum. She HATED riding in my old 16SS because it was such a rough ride. I replaced that one with my 15-footer and it rides MUCH better. Let's just say that when mommy's happy, everybody's happy...
