Stan, he does mean the "heavy clutch type flywheel", as opposed to your "automatic transmission flexplate".<br />The couplers on the Chevy engines mount to the flywheel with three bolts (coupler kinda shaped like a triangle). It's the Fords that actually bolt to the crankshaft.

All rightey then, TilliamWe...<br /><br />I didn't know that, I had an old 1979 260 Mercruiser Coupler that bolted to the crank...it had a heavy flywheel too. (small block though) I didn't know how they we're making them these days.<br /><br />Thanks for clearing that up...

Ayuh......... You Guys have got it............<br /><br />The mod.1s have the Crank mounted couplers.......Fords,+ Chevies......<br /><br />I Think they went to the Flywheel mounted couplers on Most applications with the Alphas,+ Bravos......
