Bigfoot Tilt stopped working

Hi; I have a 2007 40 Hp 4 cycle Merc Bigfoot on a Crestliner pontoon. Had it since new. All has been good until two days ago when the tilt/trim quit. I was lowering it and it sounded like it was struggling at first, then was ok. While motoring along, I tried adjusting the trim and nothing happened either way and the pump made no noise. By the time we got back to our dock, it didn't work at all. No noise, nothing. Same results on the motor mounted control and remote (throttle) control. The motor itself runs and starts normally.
Any ideas? Thanks

Have you checked the manual relief on the tilt trim and the oil lately? could be that the seals are bad in the trim cyclinders or the manual relief has gotton backed out. A OME service manual for your motor will have most all info needed in it. Cheaper and an should have if you plan on working on the motor yourself, and alot cheaper than 1 hr. labor at the dealer.
Can try to go to 1manual.com on the net and it should have info there for your motor. Have to have Adobe and let the manual download as it takes awhile.

I checked the fluid when dewinterizing a few weeks ago. It was ok and it worked fine then. Just once it hit the water there was a issue. I'll look at the relief this weekend. I found the manual online which should help.

trac e the trim motor leads back until you find where they plug in. Unplug them and hotwire with a battery. If the system works hot wired then you probably just need new relays. if the motor spins but the system doesn't move then you need hydraulic repair. If the motor does not spin when hotwired then you need a motor.
