"Edge mount" doesn't compute, Josh. Do you mean a transom mount, foot controlled motor?<br /><br />Bow mounted trollers are far far superior to transom mounts for controlling the boat. You can use as big as you want. Up to 80lb thrust are available in 24 and 36 volt models, 55 lb thrust in 12 volt models. <br /><br />Tell us what you want to do and we can give you a lot better advice.

I guess there is no limit to what you can use up there, Josh.<br /><br />Two things to consider. A large troller will make the boat bow heavier and might affect how it planes, and bigger trollers usually require bigger batteries.<br /><br />What do you want to do? Troll or just position the boat?
