Bigtwin, 1957. lower unit cosmetic help / advise

Hi'
I'm fixing up a 57 rude Big-Twin and the lower unit is fairly pitted from salt / corrosion. However it works ok, shifts smooth dose not leak oil, after sanding it to bare aluminum I was wondering what I might use to fill in some of the pitting to make the surface look better once painted? I'm not trying to make it a show piece' just a good usable motor, and was wondering what others have done?? thanks i/a

I'm planning on using a "high-fill" two part epoxy primer on mine...I do not know the results yet however.
