Bilge Pumps

So these days, it seems like the only kind of bilge pumps you can get (small pumps, for small boats) are the king that turn on automatically every minute or two. None of the old school kind that have a floater in them. I never liked these ones that turn on every few minutes, because I'll often go weeks without starting my boat, and as small of a drain as it might be, it adds up. But now I have a new reason to hate these pumps. I'm sure you all know but just to make the story better, let me explain how they work. Ever few minutes (2?), they turn on for one second. If they feel no resistance on the motor, they turn off. If they do feel resistance, that means it's pumping water, so it stays on until all the water is gone. Thats a good plan in theory. Of course, all it takes is one tiny little piece of **** to get jammed up in the motor, and that little bilge pump is going to stay on and running until the battery is dead. Then it's going to rain and the boat will sink.

What I have is this, or something just like it:
Long Link To Pump
Thats even where I got it. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the boat underwater but I'm still going to try to get my money back for the pump. Are there any better pumps out there? Something you can buy online? Something you might have a link to?
