Black box - fishing tool

Hi-

Has anyone here built their own "black box?"

I know, I can go out and buy a Pro Troll or Scotty, but I like projects and putting my own spin on things

I know there are also websites that sell a schematic, but I have never been patient enough to get to the price page, and from what I have seen they miss some key features, and I have trouble trusting sites that sound so scammy.

I would like one that has an lcd or led readout and a regulated 12v input that works a certain way... my spin

Anybody have any success building their own?

I tryed a Scotty for 3 years trolling for salmon, didnt seem to make any difference. fish bit the same with it on or off.just my opinion
