bleed oil lines?

91 70hp yamaha 2-stroke

i removed the oil tank to gain easier access to the fuel pump and carbs for replacement. i also drained the oil tank and lines as part of an oil change. do i need to bleed the oil lines of air?

Would be a good idea. Take the oil lines off at the base of the carbs. Run the motor on some pre mix until oil pumps out of the tubes. Reconnect the oil lines and continue running on the pre mix for awhile. Extra oil will not hurt a thing. regards FRED

what about a mercury xr6 would you do it the sameway

You can do all of them the same way but if you can fill the lines with oil before putting them back on this will speed up the process. Use an oil can and fit the taper nozzle into the end of the tubes and carefully pump. Don't force it. Messy but it works.
Main thing is to get some oil into the pump to prevent seizing.
