>>>Any recommendations on how to bleed the steering system (there are “bleeding “T’s” on the sea star cylinder/ram)?
Do I turn on the Autopilot prior to bleeding the SeaStar steering?

The hydraulic fluid in the helm pump is low, filled the fluid and will need to bleed air from the steering system.

SeaStar (Teleflex) front mount single cylinder estimated installed between 1989-1992, Simrad Autopilot marked SRP 12 with Powerpilot PH500 (manual copyright 1997)

Boat is '86-25' Whaler with twin '92 150 hp evinrudes.

The hydraulic lines “T” off of the helm pump, some travel directly to the steering cylinder and some go to the Simrad unit (under the CC).

The autopilot control cylinder that piggybacks onto the SeaStar steering cylinder are presently not connected to each other. Re: Bleeding Hydraulic Steering with Autopilot

Thanks for the web site Djohns 19,
I have been in e-mail contact with SeaStar/Teleflex.

Very helpful people and they do have downloads available for maintenance etc.

But they don’t know how their system effects the autopilot and visa versa. I have gone to the autopilots site but have not been able to find any information on past/outdated products.

Thanks again, Mike
