I have a 1977 evinrude 115 that I recently had to unlock the motor which had been sitting for about 8 years. I have ran it for several hours then rebuilt the carbs. Boy did that make her scream ran about 5500 rpm for about minute or so then she shut down while running wide open. It started back up ran for a min. the shut down again. I got her home removed the plugs and the lower plug on the port side was bent at the electrode and both on the port side appeared to have some water on them. The motor will only spin over with the plugs out could this be from all the possible water in the head now. What should i check for?? thanks

Pull the head! I don't like the sound of that bent electrode.

Well I pulled the head actually its the starboard side. Number four is chewed up and number two looks to be burnt. Well back to the drawing board. Wonder what happened did a fresh carb job and was running fine, Put on a new trim pump darn!!!!!!!!!!!Guess its only money LOL. <br />Saw a motor on ebay without controlls or trim wonder if its any good.
