I have an '86 22' marlin empress with a 5.7L and omc 800 OD. It also has a holley projection 2d fuel injection kit and edelbrock performer intake manifold. The problem I'm having is that is runs great off the trailer and all as long as I keep the motor running. but once I get out on the lake and turn the motor off and let 'er sit for a bit. I start it back up and it bogs a bunch until it seems like it cleans itself out. Then it'll work fine. Could water be getting into the exhaust valves or something through the exhaust? Is there something there that's supposed to stop the water from going back into the motor? Oh and the amount of bogging seems to be directly proportional to the amount of time I let it sit in the water with the motor off.

Thanks
Matt

try it again, and when it acts up...pull a plug (or all). They will be scrubbed white from the water-no carbon...if not its a heat or F.I. prob
