boat control setup

hey i got a 21ft invader with 5.7 alpha one i/o and i just completely stripped the whole interior to put new carpet and vinyl etc. upon putting everything back in i cannot figure out how to adjust the boat controls. when its in neutral the handle is in the 3 oclock position and forward is in the 12 oclock position(wide open). i dont know much about thid stuff but its a quicksilver control.

Ayuh,... Donno what you're working with,...
But,...
Most of the handles are spline mounted...
Pull it off,+ move it to where you want it...

did you take apart control box? or just remove handle. if so your 90 degrees off. Mine is a square drive and it sounds like yours is too. so yuo have no reverse at this point, correct?
