Trailering from Michigan to Florida do you cover the boat and if so what type of cover?
Or what recommendations do you have. Thanks HT

I trailered my boat across the country last fall. Nothing beats a wrap for transport.

For going that far, once I assume. I would second getting it wrapped.
Otherwise, a custom fit snap cover would be my choice. That's what I have on my boat and I always have it in place when trailering. It's been on for many interstate trips at 65 mph and above. It's held up well for a 15 year old cover.

A custom fit snap cover is what I would get but they are not cheap around $850.00 more or less.

the choice is completely up to you .... according to our experience, the further south you get, the smaller percentage of boats being towed with a cover

What is lacking in the descriptions of a cover is one that does not flap! That means a cover made specifically for that boat. If the cover does not fit tightly it will flap itself to shreds before you get out of the state.

Could help your MPG's slightly and possibly recover some of the custom cover $$$, not much but some, and if you make this trip every year (snow bird?) then it could work out pretty good long term. (guesstimate at 1.5mpg, 50$ a trip, lol)

Re: Boat Cover or No Boatt Cover

I have been back and forth between Wisconsin and Florida a few times with my SeaRay. once wrapped, once with a cover. the wrap flapped enough to chaff the hull needing a buff. the custom snap cover flapped enough to tear out a few snaps, then hit on some of the gear that I had and wore a hole in the cover.

this next trip with the Cruisers will be without a cover
