Boat cover question about humidity

I'm in S. Fla. The freaking sun down is brutal on boats. I was thinking about getting a boat cover for my 20' Dusky. BUT!! I heard from a friend(s) that covers keep humidity under it. Basically where the cover hugs the boat. Is this a urban myth(cheap covers) or am I better off putting up some kind of tin roof to keep the boat under and pray no Hurricanes come this way again?

I have a sharkskin custom cover that doesn't breathe. Bought vent poles....poles tent the cover, and the vent on top of it goes through the cover and allows the air to circulate under the cover.<br /><br />I have white interior...haven't had mildew or any other moisture issues with the vents.

Any cover should be vented or leave a fan on in the cockpit.A portable garage would be great for you since it is the sun you are looking to avoid.I have seen them at places like Pep Boys for just over $100.Charlie
