what cover would you recommend for a 20 foot bowrider - mostly will be used in the spring/summer/fall while in my driveway - to keep the rain / elements out... in the winter I'll be doing the shrink wrap - so really just a 3 season cover. I see sharkskin advertised by this forum - but I'm not familiar with them -

Re: boat cover recommendation

My lastboat was a 17ft bow rider. It had a heavy canvas trailer cover. When the boat was out of the water it haad on the trailer cover. It used to come down the sides and also helped keep the boat from fading. The boat was 11yrs old and still looked like new. When the new owner bought it all I had to do was wash the winter dust off it.

They are little expensive but well worth the investement. Keeps dust, dirt, and sun off the boat. Best part you won't need a second cover fro trailering your boat if you ever decide to take it on vacation.

I`ve got a sharkskin II on my Chap. Just bought it this summer. It appears to be good material, very water repellant, but does not look as breathable as others. I added 3 vents to solve that problem.

Re: boat cover recommendation

The Westland covers that iBoats sells are very nice. I've got one in the Sharkskin Supreme SD fabric. Came with good vents installed and kept the water out very well - however the only time I use a cover is when we have it up at the cabin on the dock.

My recommendation is to stay away from the dark blue color, our previous cover was a standard sharkskin in the blue and it had a bad habit of leaving blue marks on the back seats when it was used during trailering. The grey one we have now has not had any issues like that.

For the price I'd look at the Hydromax they are selling now. Looks to have even better specs that the Sharkskin Supreme SD at the same or cheaper price.
