Boat cover waterproof

Hi guys I have a boat cover for a bass boat that is not water proof. Would you guys recommend buying a waterproof cover or waterproofing the existing cover. If second option, how would you guys go about waterproofing the cover.

I've used 303 High Tech Fabric Guard (http://www.iboats.com/303-High-Tech...8844400--session_id.729399662--view_id.692622) and it's worked very well. Great stuff.

I just wonder how long the application will last for, or will I have to re-apply every year or so

I would expect to re-apply at some point, it's not a question of if but of when.

My cover is water resistant, meaning the water will roll off but will soak in where it pools. I think this is by design as the cover needs to breathe to let moisture out. I have two covers one is a mooring cover and one is a storage cover that is water proof. So with that in mind is water proofing a cover a good idea?
