Boat Guides

I bought some boat guides to not necessarily help get the boat on but to help me better see the trailer when there is not a boat on it.

Placement for them puts them in front of the tail lights. Not sure if this is kosher or not. I am sure you would still see the brake light and signal but wanted to get some opinions.

What say ye?

Re: Boat Guides

no way no how... not gonna fly... either relocate the lights... possibly to the top of the guides or mount the guides somewhere else

I think I will just mount them in front of the fenders since the sole purpose is to see the trailer when backing up.

Yeah no way you can see those plus local PDs might have an issue with it as well.

How about on the bar in front of the fenders? That would put the guides about 2/3 of the way back from the tongue? Would that look strange?

Re: Boat Guides

I would prefer to relocate lights to the top of the guides at the rear of the trailer.
This will do as you intend as well as help with loading. It would also make it possible if you choose to... To use the tail lights if you ever had to load at night.

If you only want something to use when the trailer is empty... Maybe consider getting one of those orange flags on a fiberglass pole. Mount it at the rear of the trailer. You could even mount it at the rear on a spring so that when you load the boat it bends it down out of the way and allows it to pop back up when you launch. Just a thought.

Re: Boat Guides

Ended up returning the boat guides and picked up a set of these to slap on when backing up. Magnetized and open up to 42".
