Boat has to DOT, Or MOT Plate?

I just realized this weekend when I went to get the info to title my boat that it has no Ministry of Transport plate on it (with the gross weight, max HP, etc. etc.) My boat has a registration number on the hull, but I guess the plate itself has been stolen? I can't find it anywhere, and I've looked all over the place. How do I go about getting another one? The Manufacturer has been out of business since 1995. I have a hull ID number on the transom, (which is inverted) and I have the registration number.. is that enough?

Being a 1978 there may have never been a sticker. I know my 1975 doesn't have one. On the USCG website there's a formula for figuring out the capacity and I believe I saw a template that you could print and glass to the hull.

I'm almost positive there was. My 1969 crestliner even had one. Honestly I don't even care but on the Transport Canada Registration form they want the "compliance label no." and I'm positive that's on that little plate
