Don't fill your boat up with the garden hose. That's not gonna' do you or the boat any good. You're better off backing it into the water on the trailer and looking for the water coming in.

l suggested that admittedly extreme and drastic method coz to me it sounded the safest method for this presumably young and inexperienced bloke,

he ain't gonna drown holding his hose in the backyard,
What you suggested still has water entering the hull so that ain't real good either lol

doing it at home avoids walking around on already slippery boat ramps and also really mean embarrasing comments from folks counting the number of leaks from the boat,

but more importantly it avoids the temptation to try out the boat again coz " it ain't leaking so much now"
we're at the ramp anyway, l'll just give it one more go...it'll be ok...

Sorry Tassie, I disagree. It's actually safer to back the trailer into the lake and look for the leak. You won't get the same volume of water from a leak coming in as you will from a garden hose, unless for some crazy reason you can't see a monster leak. By filling the boat, you load water into places it may not have otherwise gotten and perhaps some of it will decide to stay.

You're looking for where water comes into the boat, not where water runs out.

You've got a point about not taking the risk to try running the boat, but I really do feel it's safer to just back the boat into the lake on the trailer. Don't undo the transom straps. Don't undo the safety chain. If it's too busy at the ramp, wait a little bit. You won't be there long.

Ok so I found a crack that the trailer was hiding I think I'm just going to rip the floor up and replace it since it's already weak and maybe be able to see other cracks better then some glass work have a little experience on that not much though any helpful tips would be appreciated
