Boat Leaning to Left!

Hey guys. I am reposting this from the engine section. I was told it would be better over here.

I just got a 1990 Larson 25' 7.4L boat. It has a serious lean to the left while under way.. on plane. If you actually turn left the boat really wants to dump hard to the left.

The weight on the boat seems to be balanced. The batteries are on the right side and the tank filler is on the right.. although i believe the tank is in the middle.

The bottom of the skeg is broken off, but only a small piece. I plan to repair that, but is that really causing this problem?

I have been told trim tabs could rectify this problem, but I don't want to cover up a problem that should be resolved.

Thanks for any advice. Its a little scary!

Re: Boat Leaning to Left!

Get a real fat friend and have him stand on the right side of the boat! :D

Unless you have tanks in your gunwales (Walls) of your boat, your tank is in hte middle.

Question; Does the motor "pull" to one side? Have you checked your "skeg tab" adjustment? More times than not, that takes care of the whole problem.

And trim tabs are not a bad dealio .... !
