Boat registration

i'm pushing a jon boat with a three horse motor...was wondering if anyone knew if i must get it registered...thanks

depends on the state and on where you are using the boat(public or private)

Nobody here knows because we don't know where you live. Call your local County Sheriff marine patrol, power squadron, USCGA or any local boat dealer and ask them. Your local water cops should also be able to give you a bookelt that will detail all of the laws and safety requirements of your local area. Read it and then take a safe boating course. You'll be amazed about what you'll learn.

well in georgia if you operate a any type of motor driven boat you have to get it registered

In Ca. anything that has a motor..regardless if it's diesel, gas or electric powered, you need to register it.

Like they said it's best to contact yoour state rec or wildlife department or sheriff. Most states that I have lived require anything with a motor to be registered, but there may be other requirements such as invasive species sticker which apply to any watercraft so check those to.
