Re: Boat Seats

See if you have a boat salvage yard around where you live. Otherwise cheap is still going to hurt a little.

Re: Boat Seats

I know you can get basic back-to-back seats for around $300

It depends how fancy, and what you're replacing. WalMart has fold-down, cushioned fishing seats for $30-$35. Google search seat pedestals and you can find those for $15-$20. But, if you want back-to-back or the same type of seats that came with your boat, they get costly.

Of course, fishing buddies of mine swore by an empty deck with big beanbags for runs offshore.... ;)

Re: Boat Seats

The only way you are going to get cheap seats is if you can do upholstery, and that in and of itself is a time/skill challenge, and is still going to cost you $$. I've resigned myself to the fact that one of the things I want for my boat is going to cost me a pretty penny...a good interior job is a must for a restoration, otherwise the whole thing is going to look like it was thrown together.

Otherwise, your only other option is to get lucky on Craigslist. I've seen plenty of decent seats here in MN, but none of them fit my interior plans.

Re: Boat Seats

If you decide to go with the less expensive wal-mart fishing seats, one word of caution. Get good, solid seat pedestals. The good ones are expensive, but the cheap ones are junk. trust me.
