I would look at the 2008 Caravelle 237 at Futrell Marine before either of the two you posted. Newer, bigger, more power, nice trailer, for only a little more $

I'm limited to 22' at the lake I frequent. Its funny, throughout my search. there were several times when I came across a nice 24' boat ( sometimes ever 26-29' bowriders too) for the same price or cheaper than some of the 22's that I am looking at. It has crossed my mind a time or two to ditch the current lake and buy a bigger boat. The wife and I agree that we like the lake we are at enough to stay within the limits. Maybe next time. Plus I like the fact of trailering a 22' boat better than bigger boats and we trailer pretty much all over the place.

Depends on how the lake "measures" a boat. That 237 is likely less than 22 foot wetted surface.
Add swimplatform, and they call it a 23-24 footer.

I asked my lake and they go off of Title. If it says 22' 1" on the title I am out of luck. It is nice because the Chaparral 220 is officially 21' 6" but is 23' 9" with swim platform. The previous registration has it down as 22' (neither of the official measurements), but it will work for me. It all depends on how it was originally titled. I believe now days they are including swim platforms in total length because they are part of the boat and not "extended". So the 2004 220 with the extended platform not molded to the boat will be similar length to a 23.5' boat today with a molded platform. By that reasoning, with my extended platform, my 22' boat may only be a foot shorter than say the Chaparral 246 (beautiful boat by the way). I could be wrong, but I read it on the internet so it has to be the truth.
