boat wont start

everyone was such a big help to me when i had a starter problem,and i was able to fix it myself, thank you...

now, i have a 79 chevy 4cyl engine. i went out yesterday, and she ran fine. when i got hone to flush the engine, it wouldnt start. i have a brand new battery, but on my panel, it say i have no voltage. i tried to jump start, but nothing, not even sparks when i grounded the jumper cable, i chech to make sure everthing was connected, and everything is....any ideas on what do do next? i really need to get the engine flushed ( was out on salt water) thanks for any info...

Pull the battery terminals off and clean them real good .
I'd try that first.

Guessing isn't going to help, so get a meter or test light and start checking both positive and negative connecions, circuit breakers on the engine, fuses behind the instrument panel
Especially check for power to the big red wire on your ignition switch. That will tell you were to look for the problem.
No power, look in the engine area.
Power to the switch. first look for fuses and check them. Don't just look at them.
