One of my pet pieves! With all the palavering that goes on, do you think they bother to take the time to describe how the thing works, what the driver does and what the brakeman does and how they do it???

They did have a bit on the sleds today at one point. I caught the very tale end of it so I learned nothing. But they did show it.

The 'pilot' has a couple of bits of rope up front, he steering with those. The brakeman is only for the stop after the finish line... and because he's got his head down (reduce wind resistance) he must count the turns so he knows when to brake...
