Bog Bog Bog!!! I'm Clueless!!! Any Suggestions????

I have a 1976 Rally 17' with a Mercrusier 140.. I bought the boat about 2 weeks ago and took it out and had bogging problems so this last Friday I drained the fuel tank, Rebuilt the carburetor replaced the point system with a mag hot spark, New coil and plugs wires and cap and rotor. Also I rebuilt the distributor set the timing at 4deg btdc. and still the same problem any suggestions would be great thanks...

Describe the problem a little better. Does it idle ok? Does it not get to proper WOT? Is the new coil a internal or external ballasted coil? Is the new ignition system supposed to see a full 12v and not the resisted voltage?

Idles great! no it does not get to the proper wot! The coil is internal.. the ignition system i believe runs with the 12 volt.. here is the pdf from the site. http://www.hot-spark.com/Installing-Hot-Spark-Delco.pdf

That is a 170/470 part not a 140 part.
