Not sure which section to post this under but I want to know what bonding wire is made from, tinned copper? I need to make a small repair and would like to just solder the lug and wire back together.

Yes I read that somewhere. However, is that what they use when bonding the aluminum stern drive components together?

Typically they are all stainless wire crimped onto stainless lugs.

Ok what am i missing the links on your link show and say copper.

Are you referring to the sea water valves? That's exactly.the same as mine. On the drives which are aluminum and stainless they need to be stainless. The valves are bronze so you need Insulated copper.(because of water in the bilge) Copper doesn't do well with aluminum and stainless hence no paint with copper on drives or within 1 inch of gimble ring. (Remember)?
