Ok here is whats going on. When I purchased the boat didn't get to run it in the water. Found out that the Exhaust manifold/ adapter plate had been frozen and a large crack had been welded.we reinstalled everything ran it in the garage with a water hose thru the flush adapter and everything was fine.
head temps were from 158-162 at 3grand rmp/ no overheating.
Took the lake overheated right away.took back home cleaned all coolant hoses to make sure no blockage, removed thermostats.took back to lake still overheating unless you hook up hose at adapter....
Good water flow at inlet pipe..when hooked up to a hose
In the lake I was getting no water flow at the tee on top of the heads????
1) Do I need thermostats and relief valves for correct water flow?
2) should water come out the exhaust?
3) Does water mix with exhaust in the muffler.
4) Do you think there could be a hidden crack in th plate or manifold
